Expoquimia Partnering Event 2008

Expoquimia, international partnering event of applied chemistry, will be held in Barcelona from the 20th to the 24th of October 2008. A key brokerage where scientists, businessman/promoters and specialized technicians could find solutions, products and innovation related with the diverse chemistry disciplines and sectors.

At the last edition, in 2005, Expoquimia received more than 60,000 visitors with representative from 46 countries and more then 650 direct exhibitors.

The international event will include free bilateral meetings on Monday the 20th and Tuesday the 21st of October 2008 held in parallel to the brokerage, with the aim of helping the European companies to search technological partners. Registration is open until 30.09.2008

This brokerage is organised by EEN Catalonia-ACC1Ó which belongs to the world biggest public network of innovation and competitiveness promotion entities (Enterprise Europe Network) with the collaboration of the Catalan Foundation for Research and Innovation (FCRI) by means of FITEC giving the organisations the opportunity of concerting bilateral meetings with potential technology partners.

The mission of the EENs is to support innovation and transnational technological co-operation in Europe with a range of specialised business support services. With almost 220 partners organisations involved, we ensure a wide geographic coverage, targeted at technology-oriented small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), large companies, research institutes, universities, technology centres and innovation agencies. Over the past five years, the old network IRC assisted over 12,500 technology transfer negotiations and helped more than 55,000 client companies to meet their technology needs and to exploit their research results.

FITEC is the RDI space in the main Spanish trade fairs and exhibitions. It is a contact point between scientists and creators of new technologies and makes available to businessmen and investors all scientific and technological innovations. Thereby FITEC enables trade agreements and partnerships between both sectors and make business opportunities easier from selecting scientific and technologies services, developing new products and establishing trade agreements.

The purpose of the partnering event is to enhance opportunities for companies to explore and find chemical technology cooperation. A large diversion of prospects is available as all sort of collaboration sought is offered; (Research & Development, Technical Co-operation, Joint Venture Agreement, Manufacturing Agreement, Licence Agreement, Commercial Agreement, FP7-NMP Project). In order to achieve this goal, we collect descriptions of technologies obtained or sought by innovative European companies in the chemical industry sector, we check that the information is relevant and clearly explained, and we compile them into an on-line catalogue for participants to browse through.

In 2005, over 150 companies submitted 149 technological profiles describing technologies they were offering or seeking. During the brokerage event, approximately 100 meetings took place.

The Expoquimia Partnering Event 2008 is the ideal environment for:
- small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), offering and/or looking for new technologies
- scientists/research institutes offering innovative RTD results
- start-up companies and entrepreneurs

The forum will bring together suppliers and developers of chemical technology and know-how from all over Europe to discuss solutions and new opportunities for the future.
